Adult Responsibility & Contact Details

Attention – Parents/Guardians
In case of emergencies – medical or whilst at training/galas – the Club requires your contact details

Please check your details via the member login on the Club website and update if necessary. Without these you leave your swimmer vulnerable should an issue arise

Swimmers (aged 8 years and under) should NOT be left at training sessions/event without adult supervision

If parents/guardians are required to go off site they must specify (to the club desk or coaching staff) the name of an on-site responsible
adult to act in their absence

Training Sessions - Registration

ASC is still seeking volunteers to help with the taking of registers at the Club Desk at the beginning of sessions which is required under H&S and safeguarding

In the absence of assistance this task will need to be undertaken by the coaching staff. Where this occurs the start of training sessions will be delayed until our qualified Level 2 coaches are on poolside and Swimmers will be asked to wait in the changing room areas

If you can offer some help with the taking of registers please contact Kelly Bodycott, Chair

Presentation Night 13 Jan

ASC Committee wishes to thank everyone who helped to co-ordinate arrangements prior to and at the Presentation Night event

These events are only possible due to the goodwill of volunteers for which the club is extremely grateful. However in order for this to continue and for our members and children to enjoy club events we do need additional help. Please let us know if you can offer some assistance, no matter how small, and even if it is only at certain times.

If you can please contact Kelly Bodycott, Club Chair.

Ernehale Open Meet - 11/12 March

ASC's own Open Meet - the Ernehale Open Meet - takes places on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 March 2018 at Hucknall Leisure Centre.

While this event is run to provide swimmers the opportunity to compete and hopefully gain PB’s times that can be recorded on the British Swimming Website, it is also one of the main fund raisers for the club.

In order to run the event and conform to our licence conditions we need to have qualified Officials in place for all sessions. As such could you let us know as soon as possible if you can help officiate at any or all of the sessions this year

Don't worry if you are not yet qualified to officiate training is being organised and there are other roles to undertake as well

If you can help please contact Kelly Bodycott - Club Chair

Many thanks in advance for your support and look forward to hearing from you soon

Can You Help - Volunteers Needed

Arnold Swimming Club runs on the goodwill of volunteers giving up some of their time and we have now have a number of roles that need covering to ensure the continued sooth running of the club.

Register Takers
We do have a number of volunteers who take the register but we have found ourselves short on register takers due to illness work commitments and various other things so we would like to introduce a time table that gets populated in advance.

We have to take a register so we have information on who is training to check off in case of an emergency eg an evacuation. To take the register takes a minimum amount of time: arrive 10 minutes before the start of the session and tick swimmers in as they arrive finish 10 - 15 minutes after the start of the session. Without a register taker the coaches have to do this task which means the session starts late so valuable pool time is lost. If you are interested in volunteering for this role look out for the timetable on the Arnold desk and populate a session with your name if you are available.

Licenced Officials
Volunteers who would like to become a licenced official need to complete the training to enable this to happen. We have set some dates aside to run the J1 course are awaiting on confirmation of room booking but these dates have provisionally been set:

Thursday 18-Jan-2018 7pm to 9pm
Friday 26-Jan-2018 7pm to 9pm
Thursday 01-Feb-2018 7pm to 9pm

If you are interested in completing this training and becoming a licenced official please contact the Club Chair (Kelly Bodbycott)via email for more information or to register your interest for a place on the course places are limited.

Arnold Swimming club committee
The vice chair role is currently vacant.
We welcome anyone who wishes to get more involved in the running of the club if you are interested in joining the committee email on the above email address for more information and details of the requirements needed to get elected.

Team Managers Training
For current team managers if you are interested in completing the team managers level 2 course there is a course running at Harvey Hadden on the 17th of January 2018 6pm start email and we will forward your name to obtain a space. Limited places available first come first serve basis this has been opened to all Nottinghamshire clubs.

If you currently carry out the role of team manager and haven't completed the training course or you are interested in carrying out this role for the club a Level 1 team manager course is running at Harvey Hadden on the 10th of January 2018 6pm start if you want to complete please email me . Again places are limited and the course has been opened up to Nottinghamshire clubs.

There are other roles available so don't hesitate to get more involved all help is welcome.
